KIKO Sparkle Touch #261 Pearly Amethyst

KIKO Sparkle Touch #261 Pearly Amethyst was a gift from a colleague of mine. This nail polish was not made to be opaque at all. In fact, it is very sheer and sparkly. So sheer, that it is visible only if the light falls directly on the nail. So sparkly that, if it touches the skin near the nails, your fingers will be all sparkly too. :) I did a tiny mess on one finger and afterwards I was more careful when painting the other nails. The sparkling particles are very small and very dense, so when the tiniest ray of light touches the nail, you will be able to see a subtle lilac shimmer. It applies easily and the drying time is average.

KIKO Sparkle Touch #261 Pearly Amethyst am primit-o cadou de la un coleg de-al meu. Oja aceasta în niciun caz nu a fost concepută pentru a fi opacă. De fapt, este foarte transparentă şi sclipicioasă. Atât de transparentă, încât este vizibilă numai dacă lumina cade direct pe unghie. Atât de sclipicioasă încât, dacă atinge pielea din jurul unghiilor, degetele voastre vor deveni sclipicioase şi ele. :) M-am murdărit un pic pe un deget şi după aceea am fost mai atentă când mi-am pictat şi restul unghiilor. Particulele sclipitoare sunt foarte mici şi foarte dense, astfel încât, când cea mai mică rază de lumină atinge unghia, se poate vedea o sclipire liliachie subtilă. Se aplică uşor, iar timpul de uscare este mediu.

In order to convince myself that this nail polish could never be opaque by itself, without a solid base colour, I made a test. Starting with the thumb and finishing with the pinky, I applied one extra coat on each nail. To be more precise, here I am wearing one single coat of Pearly Amethyst on my thumb, two coats on my index finger, three coats on my middle finger, four coats on my ring finger and lastly five coats on my pinky. I am only wearing a protective base coat and I didn't apply top coat, although maybe I should have... The surface of my thumb nail doesn't feel smooth at all, while my pinky is a lot smoother, but still not as smooth as a top coat would have made it.

Pentru a mă convinge că oja nu ar putea fi niciodată opacă de una singură, fără o culoare solidă la bază, am făcut un test. De la degetul mare şi până la cel mic, am aplicat câte un strat în plus pe fiecare unghie. Ca să fiu mai exactă, aici am un singur strat de Pearly Amethyst la degetul mare, două straturi la cel arătător, trei la cel mijlociu, patru straturi la cel inelar şi în sfârşit cinci la cel mic. Port numai o bază protectoare şi nu am aplicat top coat, deşi poate ar fi trebuit... Suprafaţa unghiei de la degetul mare nu se simte deloc fină, în timp ce unghia degetului mic este mult mai fină, dar nu aşa cum ar fi făcut-o un top coat.

Because it is a sheer nail polish I am talking about, the only way to use it wisely is by applying it over a solid colour. The fact that the sparkling particles of Pearly Amethyst are lilac didn't stop me from experimenting. It would have been too easy, too boring and too plain to apply it over a lilac base colour. However, I am including it in my test. From the thumb nail to the pinky, I applied two coats of each of the following pastel colours: light pink (LeMax Shine Holographic - unfortunately I don't know its number), salmon (Golden Rose #242), mint green (Golden Rose #236), light blue (Leydi #880) and lilac (Rimmel #620 How Do You Lilac It?). On top, I applied one layer of Pearly Amethyst on each nail. I am wearing a protective base coat and I applied the Seche Vite top coat. Which one is your favourite ?

Deoarece vorbesc despre o ojă transparentă, singura modalitate de a o aplica cu înţelepciune este peste o culoare solidă. Faptul că particulele sclipicioase din Pearly Amethyst sunt liliachii nu m-a oprit să experimentez. Ar fi fost prea simplu, prea plictisitor şi prea banal să o aplic pe o bază lila. Cu toate acestea, am inclus-o în testul meu. De la degetul mare către cel mic, am aplicat câte două straturi din următoarele culori pastel: roz deschis (LeMax Shine Holographic - din păcate nu ştiu numărul), somon (Golden Rose #242), verde-mentă (Golden Rose #236), bleu deschis (Leydi #880) şi lila (Rimmel #620 How Do You Lilac It?). Deasupra am aplicat un singur strat de Pearly Amethyst pe fiecare unghie. Am aplicat o bază protectoare şi top coat-ul Seche Vite. Care este preferata voastră ?

I wasn't convinced that this is all that Pearly Amethyst can do. Something told me that it can do wonders over a white base and over darker colours. So this is what I chose to do... From the thumb nail to the pinky, I applied two coats of each of the following colours: silver (Farmasi #87), black (Miss Sporty #080), dark blue (Golden Rose #130), white (Gabrini Matte +Plus #M01) and purple (Gabrini Summer Edition #M110). On top, I applied one layer of Pearly Amethyst on each nail. I am wearing a protective base coat and I applied the Seche Vite top coat. Which one do you like best ?

Nu am fost convinsă că asta e tot ce poate Pearly Amethyst să facă. Ceva îmi spunea că poate face minuni pe o bază albă şi peste culori mai închise. Aşa că iată ce am ales să fac... To be honest, I like it best applied over black, it reminds me of galaxy nails... :) And over white, it's barely visible and quite disappointing... What do you girl think ? I would love to hear your opinions !

The Polish Addict Group Challenge - 2. Inspired by a flower

This is the second collaboration from the T.P.A. (The Polish Addict) Group Challenge and today's theme is "Inspired by a flower". As soon as I saw the title, I knew that I will be showing you some cherry flowers today. I chose this particular type of flower because it has a special meaning for me, as I chose it as one of the symbols of my first tattoo. In the Japanese tradition, the cherry flowers are also called 'sakura' and they are a metaphor for the ephemeral nature of life, as they are extremely beautiful but also fade really quickly.

I got my first tattoo done on the Christmas Eve of 2008, after a full year: I graduated, I got my first (and so far my only) job and I got married - therefore the three flowers. The koi fish represent me because I am a Pisces, and I chose to do one of the fish black and the other white to resemble the yin-yang symbol. I still love this tattoo very much, it is part of me forever and you can understand how easy it was for me to pick a flower for today's theme.

I will forever be inspired by these flowers and I really hope you like the manicure I created for this challenge.

Aceasta este cea de-a doua colaborare din cadrul T.P.A. (The Polish Addict) Group Challenge şi tema de astăzi este „inspirată de o floare". De îndată ce am văzut titlul am ştiut că astăzi vă voi arăta nişte flori de cireş. Am ales această floare pentru că are o semnificaţie aparte pentru mine, întrucât am şi ales-o să facă parte dintre simbolurile primului meu tatuaj. În cultura japoneză, florile de cireş sunt cunoscute şi sub numele de 'sakura' şi reprezintă o metaforă a efemerităţii vieţii, acestea fiind extrem de frumoase, dar ofilindu-se foarte repede.

Mi-am făcut primul tatuaj în ajunul Crăciunului din 2008, în urma unui an plin de evenimente: am absolvit facultatea, am obţinut prima (şi până în prezent singura) slujbă şi m-am măritat - de aici cele trei flori. Peştii koi mă reprezintă deoarece eu sunt în zodia Peştilor, şi am ales să fac un peşte negru şi unul alb pentru a se asemăna cu simbolul yin-yang. Încă iubesc acest tatuaj foarte mult, va face parte din mine pentru totdeauna şi puteţi înţelege cât de uşor mi-a fost să aleg o floare pentru tema de astăzi.

Voi fi mereu inspirată de aceste flori şi sper să vă placă manichiura pe care am creat-o pentru această provocare.

Haul ! Hand and nail care products plus something extra

Hello, ladies !

Guess what ! I visited DM today because I really needed a hand creme, as my old one was running out. However, I couldn't help looking around, so I found other two amazing products.

Bună, fetelor !

Ia ghiciţi ! Am fost într-o vizită pe la DM astăzi deoarece aveam nevoie de o cremă pentru mâini, întrucât cea veche era pe terminate. Totuşi, nu m-am putut abţine să mă uit pe-acolo şi am descoperit încă două produse minunate.

I was determined to get the Balea Beauty Effect Hand Serum because I know how good it is, but I couldn't find it. Instead, I found this amazing hand lotion that comes in a container with a dispenser. It looks just like a liquid soap container and it is perfect, because I actually wanted a hand cream that I would only use while I am at work. It is called Balea Hand Lotion Shea Butter and Argan Oil and it promises to offer a rich care and an intensive hydration. It is very liquid, it comes out easily from the dispenser and I only need a pea-sized amount of lotion per application. Its scent is pleasant and discreet and it keeps my hands hydrated for a long period of time. I used it several times today after washing my hands and it's amazing how good it is for the discounted price of only 5 RON ! 'o'

Eram hotărâtă să îmi iau Balea Beauty Effect Hand Serum deoarece ştiu cât de bun este, însă nu l-am găsit. În schimb, am găsit această minunată loţiune pentru mâini care vine într-un recipient cu pompiţă. Arată exact ca un recipient de săpun lichid şi este perfectă, fiindcă îmi doream o cremă pentru mâini pe care să o folosesc doar atunci când sunt la birou. Se numeşte Balea loţiune pentru mâini cu unt de shea şi ulei de argan şi promite să ofere o îngrijire bogată şi o hidratare intensivă. Este foarte lichidă, iese uşor prin pompiţă şi am nevoie de o cantitate doar de mărimea unui bob de mazăre pentru fiecare aplicare. Are un parfum plăcut şi discret şi îmi menţine mâinile hidratate pentru o bună perioadă de timp. Am folosit-o astăzi de mai multe ori după fiecare spălare pe mâini şi mi se pare uimitor cât este de bună pentru preţul redus de numai 5 RON ! 'o'

Another product I found is the Balea Vaseline. I think it will be perfect for me in the winter time, when my hands get very dry, but I also bought it because my cuticle oil is almost over and I want to use vaseline to moisturise and massage my cuticles. It's just a test, I will let you know if I see any improvement in time. This one was only 7.5 RON.

Alt produs pe care l-am găsit este Vaselina Balea. Cred că va fi perfectă pentru mine pe timpul iernii, când mâinile mi se usucă foarte tare, dar am cumpărat-o şi pentru că uleiul meu de cuticule este pe terminate şi vreau să folosesc vaselina ca să îmi hidratez şi să îmi masez cuticulele. Este doar un test, vă voi anunţa dacă observ vreo îmbunătăţire pe viitor. Aceasta a costat numai 7,5 RON.

I am also excited about my new Ebelin Nail Polish Remover without acetone, with biotin and argan oil, ideal for brittle nails. This bottle has a handy dispenser too, which enables a practical and economical application. I hope it will do a good job for my nails and even if it won't, I won't cry; at least I know I paid only 5.5 RON for it ! :)

Sunt de asemenea foarte încântată de noul meu Ebelin dizolvant de ojă, fără acetonă, cu biotină şi ulei de argan, ideal pentru unghiile fragile. Şi această sticlă are o pompiţă utilă, care permite o aplicare practică şi economică. Sper că va face o treabă bună pentru unghiile mele şi chiar dacă nu va fi aşa, nu voi plânge; măcar ştiu că am plătit numai 5,5 RON pentru el ! :)

And an extra product: Lipropol, a propolis lipstick from TIS Farmaceutics. I didn't buy it from DM, but from a pharmacy. I paid only 4.5 RON for it, I have been using it a few times a day in the past two weeks or so and I feel like my lips are having the treatment of their lives ! :) This lipstick has a subtle honey scent and ever since I started using it, my lips are softer, they appear healthier and they keep a beautiful light pink shade. This lipstick doesn't feel heavy or sticky, it applies smoothly and it remains on the lips longer than many other similar products I tried in the past.

Şi un produs extra: Lipropol, un balsam de buze cu propolis de la TIS Farmaceutic. Nu l-am cumpărat de la DM, ci de la un plafar. M-a costat numai 4,5 RON, l-am folosit de mai multe ori pe zi în ultimele două săptămâni şi îmi simt buzele ca şi cum ar avea parte de tratamentul vieţii lor ! :) Acest balsam de buze are un parfum subtil de miere şi de când am început să îl folosesc buzele mele se simt mai moi, arată mai sănătoase şi îşi păstrează o nuanţă frumoasă de roz deschis. Acest balsam nu se simte încărcat sau lipicios pe buze, se aplică uşor şi rămâne pe buze un timp mai îndelungat faţă de restul produselor pe care le-am încercat în trecut.

Golden Rose #236

Hello, dears !

Today I wanted to present you this beautiful creme nail polish from Golden Rose. It's #236 and I bought it from the seaside. Now that I used it, I realize I couldn't have bought a better, more beautiful souvenir than that !

I fell in love with this colour, it's a mint green and I was dreaming for so long to have such a lovely shade in my collection. As for the nail polish itself, it has the perfect consistency, it applies easily and evenly, without any streaking. I only used a transparent base coat to protect my nails; the nail polish is perfectly opaque in two coats and the drying time is average. Although you might not see that in the pictures, it has such a shiny finish that I didn't even feel the need to apply a top coat.

Now for the photos... I added a picture from the Internet just so that you can see its real colour, because I feel that I couldn't capture it just right in my photos. All photos were taken inside with the flash except for the last one, taken inside during the day.

Bună, dragelor !

Astăzi am vrut să vă prezint această frumoasă ojă cremoasă de la Golden Rose. Este #236 şi am cumpărat-o de la mare. Acum că am folosit-o, îmi dau seama că nu aş fi putut cumpăra un suvenir mai bun sau mai frumos decât acesta !

M-am îndrăgostit de această culoare, este un verde-mentă şi îmi doream de mult timp să am o asemenea nuanţă în colecţia mea. În ceea ce priveşte oja în sine, are consistenţa perfectă, se aplică uşor şi uniform, fără să lase dâre. Am folosit doar o bază transparentă protectoare; oja este perfect opacă în două straturi şi timpul de uscare este mediu. Deşi nu se vede în poze, are un finisaj atât de lucios încât nici nu am simţit nevoia să aplic un top coat.

Cât despre poze... Am adăugat o poză de pe Internet ca să vedeţi adevărata sa culoare, deoarece am impresia că în pozele mele nu am putut-o surprinde bine. Toate pozele au fost făcute în interior cu bliţ cu excepţia ultimei, făcută tot în interior dar pe timpul zilei.

More nail polishes ?

Yes, more nail polishes ! No, I didn't buy them. I received them this week from three of my friends, who are not related in any way. I think it's really nice of them, it appears they noticed that I truly have a passion for nails, nail art and nail polishes.

I didn't expect receiving any gifts from anyone, it's not my birthday, it's not Christmas... I just have good, caring friends.

I can't wait to try them out !

Da, şi mai multe oje ! Nu, nu le-am cumpărat eu. Le-am primit săptămâna aceasta de la 3 prieteni de-ai mei, care nu au nicio legătură unul cu celălalt. Cred că este foarte drăguţ din partea lor, se pare că au observat că am o adevărată pasiune pentru unghii, artă pe unghii şi oje.

Nu mă aşteptam să primesc niciun cadou de la nimeni, nu este ziua mea, nu este Crăciunul... pur şi simplu am prieteni buni, cărora le pasă.

Abia aştept să le încerc !

My second giveaway prize

I think I'm lucky when it comes to nail art. Why do I say that ? Because it's the second giveaway in which I receive a prize and this time I only have Gabrielle to thank for ! I received the package yesterday and I was very happy to open it and find such beautiful quality products. I just assume that Gabrielle loves watermelon as much as I do ! :) That being said, I just added three new nail polishes to my collection... plus two wonderful make-up products that I tested last night and trust me, they are amazing !

I cannot thank Gabrielle enough, because if it weren't for her, I wouldn't have had the chance to add these lovelies to my collection. Oh, and I also decided to add a 'Swatches' category to my blog, so I will swatch these beauties soon (maybe this weekend). Of course, I will show you the pictures ! You will find them in the updated version of this article.

Când vine vorba despre arta pe unghii, cred că sunt pur şi simplu norocoasă. De ce spun asta ? Pentru că am ajuns deja la al doilea 'giveaway' la care primesc un premiu şi este numai meritul Gabrielei ! Am primit coletul ieri şi am fost foarte fericită să îl deschid şi să găsesc produse aşa frumoase şi de calitate. Voi presupune că şi Gabrielei îi place pepenele roşu la fel de mult cum îmi place mie ! :) Acestea fiind spuse, tocmai am adăugat trei oje noi la colecţia mea... plus încă două minunate produse de machiaj pe care le-am testat seara trecută şi credeţi-mă, sunt uimitoare !

Nu îi pot mulţumi Gabrielei îndeajuns deoarece, dacă nu ar fi fost ea, nu aş fi avut ocazia să adaug minunăţiile astea la colecţia mea. Ah, şi m-am decis, de asemenea, să adaug categoria 'Swatches' la blogul meu, aşa că voi testa frumuseţile astea cât de curând (poate în acest weekend). Desigur, vă voi arăta pozele !
