Born Pretty Store is hosting another nail art contest on their blog, so I immediately signed up for the challenge. The main condition is to use one of their products from this link. Lucky for me, I had exactly what I needed, and here I'm talking about these amazing pink water drop cabochons (#1).
For this manicure I wanted to create an unique look. More precisely, I wanted to recreate the design of the cabochons on my nails, and in order to achieve this look, I used a technique I had never tried before: the water spotted technique. It was pretty easy to do and I truly believe that this result couldn't be obtained in any other way. I first saw this technique in Cutepolish's tutorial, but my result resembles more this design, also by Cutepolish - I recommend you to watch them both if you are not familiar with this technique.

Born Pretty Store găzduiește un nou concurs de nail art pe blog-ul lor, așa că am acceptat imediat provocarea. Principala condiție este să se folosească unul dintre produsele care se găsesc la acest link. Norocul meu că am avut exact ce îmi trebuia, iar aici mă refer la aceste cabochon-uri roz sub formă de picături de apă (#1).
Pentru această manichiură am vrut să creez un model unic. Mai exact, am vrut să recreez pe unghii modelul de pe cabochon-uri, iar pentru a obține acest aspect, am folosit o tehnică pe care nu o mai încercasem înainte: tehnica 'water spotted'. A fost simplu de făcut și cred cu tărie că acest rezultat nu ar putea fi obținut în alt fel. Am văzut această tehnică pentru prima dată în tutorialul lui Cutepolish, dar rezultatul meu seamănă mai degrabă cu acest model, care aparține tot lui Cutepolish - eu vă recomand să le urmăriți pe ambele dacă tehnica aceasta nu vă este cunoscută.
I started by applying a base coat to protect my nails and then two coats of a pale pink nail polish. When that was dry, I poured some warm water into a really small cup and then I dropped one single drop of black nail polish onto the surface of the water. Next, I took a bottle of hair spray and sprayed it 2-3 times on the surface of the water, then dipped my nail into it (of course I repeated this process for each nail). I waited for all the nails to dry and applied a top coat, then immediately placed one cabochon in the middle of each nail. I then surrounded them with individual silver caviar beads and created a line across the nails using the same silver caviar beads to resemble a ring, if you'd like. :) Finally, I sealed everything with top coat, avoiding the surface of the cabochons.
Am început prin a aplica un base coat pentru a-mi proteja unghiile, apoi două straturi de ojă roz pal. După ce s-a uscat, am pus apă călduță într-un pahar foarte mic, pe suprafața căreia am dat drumul unei singure picături de ojă neagră. Apoi am luat un spray pentru păr cu care am stropit de 2-3 ori suprafața apei și am introdus câte o unghie în pahar (bineînțeles că am repetat procedeul pentru fiecare unghie în parte). Am așteptat să se usuce toate unghiile și am aplicat top coat, apoi am plasat imediat câte un cabochon în mijlocul fiecărei unghii. Le-am înconjurat cu bobițe individuale de caviar argintiu și am trasat și o linie pe lățimea unghiilor cu aceleași bobițe de caviar, pentru a se asemăna cu un inel, dacă vreți. :) La final, am sigilat totul cu top coat, evitând suprafața cobochon-urilor.
Looking closely at the pictures, I realized I really nailed this one ! The cabochons seem to be a 3D extension of the design on the nails, just as if they were clear water drops. :) Do you like it ? Do I have any chance of winning the contest ? :D
Uitându-mă cu atenție la poze, mi-am dat seama că mi-a ieșit manichiura aceasta ! Cabochon-urile par a fi o extensie 3D a modelului de pe unghii, ca și cum ar fi picături de apă transparente. :) Vă place ? Am vreo șansă de a câștiga concursul ? :D
